ABOUT US
As per the various studies it is evident that the dropout rates in India is the highest at all the level Primary, Middle, Secondary and Higher Secondary. The maximum number of dropouts occurs at school level. It has been observed that the dropout students are involved in unproductive activities.
MESCO Education Society (MES) realized that Mumbra (Kausa) had very many drop outs. In order to bring these students to the main stream of the society by imparting technical skills and making them self reliant, MES took an initiative and started a Vocational Training School in the year 2008, at Mumbra Kausa, in collaboration with the renowned institute Fr. Agnel Technical College, Bandra.
We have been fortunate in having Fr. Agnel Technical College, Bandra as our collaborator and therefore, while MES does the publicity it has a solid support in terms of the curriculum design, implementation in terms of recruitment of suitable teachers, technical support to the teachers in imparting the curriculum, providing external examiners to conduct the exam and final certification.
We were of the firm belief that the Technical Skills will not only bring a change in the life of individuals (dropout students) but society as whole. During our journey since 2008, it has been realized that technical skills can bring a tremendous mould in the life of dropout students.
Secondly, the industries have a huge demand for such technical skills as there is a great shortage of skilled labour. There is a big gap between the supply and demand of technically skilled workers. The National Skill Development Commission of India, has estimated the need for about 3 crores trained manpower over the next five year.
